Honor Flight Kentucky Board Member Sha Phillips has been involved with the Honor Flight network since 2012. She discovered the organization through a sponsorship by Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, a not-for-profit electric cooperative that serves more than 520,000 Kentucky homes and businesses. She has also served as a Guardian on several flights and says it’s been her privilege to play a role on each mission.
“Being able to accompany these brave men and woman who served our country is a blessing,” she said. “And witnessing the gratitude they receive during their trip is heartwarming. But, the best part is hearing how much the veterans enjoy it. I encourage everyone to be a part of Honor Flight – through donations, attending the Welcome Home Celebration or simply spreading the word to our veterans.”
