A special thanks to Dr. LeMaine Ellis and the town of Harrodsburg, KY for hosting Honor Flight Kentucky (HFK) at the May 20, 2023 A.T.O.M. (A Thing On Main) Fest! Events and activities like A.T.O.M enable HFK to fly our Kentucky veterans to Washington DC to visit the national memorials honoring their service. Join us in honoring our Veterans through Mail Call!

As part of every mission, we seek to show gratitude on behalf of the community for the service of our Veterans through Mail Call. Our Veterans are given cards, letters, and children’s drawings sent in from their loved ones, community organizations, individuals, and school children thanking them for their service to our nation. You can be a part of our upcoming September 16th, 2023 or October 7th, 2023 flight by submitting mail for the 70 Veterans who will be flying with us! Things to keep in mind:

  • Mail should be addressed to “Hero” or “Veteran” (avoid referring to any specific branch of service)
  • Sign ONLY your first name, an organization name is also acceptable
  • Do not date the letters, cards, drawings, etc.
  • Do not seal the envelopes if used (all mail is reviewed and screened)
  • Handwritten cards or letters are most appreciated
  • Don’t use staples, pins, or anything else that could injure fragile hands
  • Please avoid using glitter
  • Drawn/colored pictures are appreciated from children, but avoid using dark-colored paper so that it can be easily read
  • ALL MAIL MUST BE RECEIVED BY September 1st, 2023 in order to be included for the September 16th flight and by September 29th, 2023 for the October 7th, 2023 flight.

Mail should be sent to:
