We are excited to announce Operation HERoes, our first all-female veteran flight, schedule to take off June 12, 2021!
According to the Defense Department, women now make up approximately 10% of the current veteran population, the fastest-growing demographic, and one which faces its own unique challenges. This inspired the vision to conduct a special mission for these unique heroes.
This flight will be filled with female veterans who served our Nation during WWII, the Korean, and Vietnam Wars. Serving as their guardians will be female veterans who have served following these conflicts.
We are currently accepting applications and look forward to honoring the women who have served as the trailblazers in our Armed Forces.
Our mission is to fly World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans to Washington, D.C. for a one-day all-expenses-paid trip to visit the memorials that are dedicated to their service and sacrifices.
As a result of the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID19), the Honor Flight Kentucky Board of Directors is announcing the postponement of all 2020 flights to Washington, D.C. While disappointing, this decision is being made from an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our veterans and in coordination with Honor Flight National (HFN) and our many honor flight partners. We look forward to flying a record number of veterans in 2021!
