Honor Flight Kentucky would like to invite you to participate in our Homefront Heroes excursion that will take place in and around Lexington while your veteran is enjoying the day in Washington. There is NO COST to you or your Veteran for this trip which includes both lunch and dinner meals. Homefront Heroes offers you the opportunity to enjoy some of the sights the Bluegrass region has to offer while enjoying the company of your fellow veteran’s spouses/partner. We will travel by charter bus to visit several local attractions to include the Kentucky Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Frankfort. At the end of the day, we will return to Blue Grass Airport and await the arrival of the flight from Washington and participate in the “Welcome Home” celebration.

The “Welcome Home” celebration takes place once the Veterans and Guardians deplane. Lined with American flags and a large welcoming crowd, it is both a sight to behold and an emotional event as the Veterans make their way through the terminal. For our Vietnam heroes the “Welcome Home” celebration is a long, long overdue recognition of their service and sacrifices.
